I looked on my credit card account I used for my purchase of 2-6-2013, and I noticed this charge from a HabandVIP Plus of $1.99, and I was wondering what this little charge was for, and I couldn't find anything on your regular Haband.com site. But in the mail today I got this mailing from VIP Plus, and noticed that I joined. That alone said something was wrong. Then I checked out your scam, and saw the $1.99 was a 1 month introductory offer, then $15 a month after that, I consciously know I would not sign up for anything like this, because my purchase was a 1 off purchase for me, meaning this is, and will be the only time I ever purchase anything from you. You SOB's used my credit card # I used for my actual purchase, and charged me for your little VIP PLUS Scam at HabandVIPPlus.com

I never signed up for it, and don't want it, your VIP Plus bullshit that is. I only gave you my confidential info for my purchase only. And I once signed up to get e-mail, but that doesn't mean I wanted to buy into you scam bullshit, EVER! I live on Social Security, and I watch how I spend my money. I am not, and never will give a company $180.00 year to get $15 gift code, or 10% off of merchandise you sell.

I saw how you get people to join, with big benefits a person thinks they get by entering their name and e-mail, and then hidden on the side is the real scam. I'm sure you hook many a fool, whether obviously, or covertly. If you want people to join your little VIP PLUS Scam Club, then at such time, they should also again fill out their credit card info, and all the other confidential information. That's how it should be done, but not you sleazy folks...No, you played a 3 card Monte on your customers, which is both unethical, and unprofessional. And please don't say you listed the requirements to the left of the bold lettered "Get 15% Off" so enter your name and email below. Was there anything similar to how any purchase from a reputable organization would have it set up for an online purchase? NO!!!

In my book, you all are a bunch of dirtbags! And I want my $1.99 back now. It's funny I get all this crap in the mail, and you charge my credit card way before I get the actual purchase, which I'm still waiting for, and have no idea when that delivery will happen.

"This is what happened yesterday(Really, it was Friday, but Buddy wrote this yesterday.) when I took Buddy to the vet yesterday for his annual exam, written in his own words!"

***UPDATE on 2-2-2013***

Well, I, Buddy De Cat had my vet visit yesterday for my annual exam. It started out great as I love getting in the kennel and going for rides, but once I got there, well things went from good to bad.

My human companion Bill De Human has been going to Dr. Gustafson at Country Hospital for Animals for almost 2 decades with all the critters he has had, including me. Granted, me and Bill have been a team for only 8 years now, as it just started as a cat-sitting gig for him, but life happens as these humans say. I'm really 14 years old.
We got to the vet, and checked in, and were immediately escorted to our special Cat Exam room, as the exam table is also a cat weighing scale too. So Bill took me out, and placed me on the table, and I came in at a hefty 8.2 pounds (I know, I'm not big and heavy enough to play lineman on my local kitty football team, but as a running back, I'm another Ray Rice or a great receiver like Cruz on the NY Giants!) and I sat on the table as the vet tech left to fetch the vet.

Well, as I sat on the table, it all started to comeback to me what this place really was, "IT WAS THE VETS EXAM ROOM" and I noticed all the torture devices he had about the room, and over on the counter. I had flashbacks of cold thermometers being stuck up my butt, and other torture devices to look into my ears, deep into my ear, my mouth, and all sorts of scary stuff, as a wave of kitty scared paranoia flowed through every vein, muscle, and bone in my kitty body. I bolted off the table, and into the open kitty kennel sitting on the bench behind Bill, as he tried to catch me (Ain't going to happen, as he's an old and big human, and can never catch me, "Lightning Furball" as my fellow kitty football players call me, as it's a term of endearment to honor me and my speed.) and missed. So I hunkered down in the far corner of the kitty kennel, never to leave if my life depended on it.

The vet came into the exam room a short time later, and him and Bill were sharing war stories of dogs and cats of yesteryear, like BearDog, Bill's famous Chocolate Lab who was on the Humane Society of US's annual desk calendar back in 1999, and looking at pictures of BearDog. The vet said there are still pictures of Bear, and his Christmas Light decorated doghouse Bill built for him many years ago in the photo album the vet keeps in the waiting area. Then the story time was over, and I knew it was time for business, but I wasn't having none of it. Bill reached it to get my out, and I sunk my nails and teeth into him to defend myself from the inevitable animal hospital torture. I was scared to death, and fought like hell not to leave the security of my kennel.

Then I heard those words that meant I was doomed, as the vet told the vet tech, "Go get the Kitty Proof Gloves, and some bandages and anti-biotic for Bill to fix his wounds." She was back in a New York minute ( I don't know what that means, but I did hear it on the TV machine when I watch it with Bill every evening.") and now the extraction of me from the kennel began. They brought the kennel on top of the exam table, and turned it on it's end so the opening was on the bottom. Then the vet tech reached in and grabbed me, but I put up the fight of my life, but I was eventually captured, and under their control---and so the torture began.

The vet tech held me gently but firmly, wearing the big kitty claw proof gloves that went all the way up to her shoulder. The vet poked and prodded me, and eventually told Bill I looked good, except for maybe needing some dental/gum issues that can be addressed in the near future.

Thank kitty god it was over, and back into the kennel I went, happy as a pig in shit. Bill went to the admissions desk in the lobby, and gave them money. He actually paid them to torture me, now that is really weird. They talked about making some future arrangements for me to comeback here in a few months to work on my teeth, whatever that means. We went out to the minivan, and headed home.

I was so happy to be home, and I tried to apologize to Bill for biting and scratching him, and he said it's all OK. Then we had dinner, me my tuna, and Bill a sandwich and some type of soup, as he calls it. We then watched a movie with that Clint Eastwood guy, and some pretty woman name Amy Adams & Justin Woodpond, or something like that---and it had to do with baseball. I love baseball, as I try to whack the balls when they go flying by on the TV machine. I can never stop them though. Oh well...
And that was my day at the vet.

PS- I looks like Bill has also recovered from our eventful day yesterday! Thanks Billy!

Cable is essentially a rip-off if you're not watching sports. All cable customers, whether they watch sports or not, are paying to subsidize the ever-increasing cost of sports channels. Is this fair? Davis Sirota breaks it down.

"Homosexual behavior is harmful to the mind, body and spirit," WY state Rep. and Hatemongering Homophobe Extraordinaire Lynn Hutchings (R-Cheyenne) said. I wonder how she knows all this? Lynn is a hateful and angry black women, who was dumped by her gay lover because you can't change your sexual orientation. Hutchings is truly a sorry and pathetic lil' woman, and one of those fake christians who hates everyone except their kind, and wants everyone to worship their mythology and story book know as the bible. You're a sad, sad woman!

Hutchings, who is Black, called on supporters of gay marriage to "stop carpet-bagging on our civil rights movement," saying that there is no comparison between the two. Yet she forgets that this is a civil rights movement, just one that her prejudice and bigotry can't tolerate. I'm guessing tolerance is not part of her christianity? Hutchings is a damn hypocrite! She said she rejects the comparison because she believes that people choose to be gay. But they really don't there Lynn---did you choose to be black? Oh, I see, that's different. NO IT ISN'T, DAMMIT---Wake Up Woman, you hateful lil' women who is also a hypocrite and LIAR! Hutchings also said her ex-fiancé had once been gay and decided to become straight. (BULLSHIT- He was probably never gay, or he just liked to suck...) And then he became gay again because he was Lynn's fiancé, and that validated that he really was gay, as he described her as a dead ****. Now we know why he is gay!

You are a disgrace to Wyoming and America, and would have done real good in some prejudice society, like...

Save America's Wolves From the Liars! And their Bullets!

President Obama and his Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar, a Colorado rancher, have adopted unjust and heartless "tea party" policies towards America's wolves. And the U.S. Congress is equally guilty in this ecological and ethical injustice. Wolves are highly intelligent, native, and vital natural predators that belong on the land. Too many brutish ranchers and misguided hunters have unfairly demonized and maligned wolves for centuries. An American majority wants an end to demonization and massacre of America's wolves and other native wildlife.

Wolves are native, ecologically vital and beautiful members of the North American landscape. Wherever they live, wolves are remarkable, natural predators that keep their prey species healthy and strong. Wolves have been persecuted and massacred for centuries, due to human ignorance, intolerance and cruelty. It is the very opposite of the respect, admiration and protection they deserve. Wolves are highly social and very intelligent beings and like all canines, they are loyal and loving to their families, their wolf pack.

Brutally persecuting and killing such ecologically vital, sensitive, intelligent and family-oriented beings should be labeled what it is: unacceptable, criminal animal abuse and unacceptable, criminal killing. In days of old, when much of humanity was ruled by fear and ignorance, the terrible slaughter of natural predators was too often a sad part of the human condition. To perpetrate such brutality and unjustified killing of wolves and other natural predators, in this modern era with our deeper knowledge and understanding of earth science and ecology, is pathologically and ecologically criminal.

Too many cattle ranchers perpetuate deadly, hysterical myths and ridiculous exaggerations about depredation of cattle by wolves, which is statistically insignificant in every state. Wolves much prefer their wild prey. For instance, in the huge state of Wyoming there are 1,300,000 non-native cattle. Tens of thousands of cattle in Wyoming die every year due to weather, disease, birth complications and from eating poison plants, for which ranchers receive zero compensation. In 2011, the US Fish & Wildlife Service confirmed only 35 cattle taken by wolves in the entire state. 35 out of 1,300,000... that is statistically zero. Yet, Wyoming ranchers are foolishly compensated for such tiny losses and like other ranchers throughout the West, whine endlessly about wolves to anyone who will listen. Many of these ranchers constantly scheme and pressure federal and state politicians to kill wolves.

These ranchers should be ignored and they need serious therapy to deal with their collective neurosis regarding wolves. They feel entitled to continue a horrific tradition of unacceptable brutality, the same criminal brutality that earlier destroyed Native American people and culture and massacred native wildlife throughout the continent. Decent Americans can no longer allow them to have their way. It is disgraceful and unacceptable that any supposedly honest and decent American politician would listen to such destructive liars and then serve their cruel, unjust, and immoral demand that innocent wolves be condemned to death.

To add massive insult to massive injury, the rancher's non-native cattle graze on federal tax payer subsidized public lands that belong to all Americans, land that should be a haven for America's vital wolves and other native wildlife, including native bison, grizzly bears, mountain lions, prairie dogs, wolverines, coyotes and so many other amazing members of the continent's rich natural heritage. The massive numbers of non-native cattle grazing unsupervised throughout the arid West cause tremendous damage trampling across fragile ecosystems where they do not belong. The cattlemen's reign of terror against the wildlife and wild lands of the United States must permanently come to an end. Let their well deserved demise begin by stopping these federal tax payer-subsidized welfare ranchers, once and for all, from their vile, unjustified and unrelenting campaign of demonization and slaughter of America's wolves.

Many ecologically ignorant hunters and sadistic trappers relentlessly lobby to torture and slaughter natural predators that belong in every ecosystem. Wolves, like all natural predators, are miracles of evolution and keep every ecosystem they inhabit vibrant and healthy. Where wolves are present on the landscape, there are often more elk and deer, and these prey animals are healthier. No one would know such indisputable facts, by listening to the anti-wolf propaganda nonsense from hunter lobby groups such as the dishonest Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. Most hunting organizations are only concerned with having more animals to kill without regard to ecology and ethics and the humane will of the non-hunting majority. They also must finally be restrained.

There should be no hunting or trapping of wolves and other natural predators. They are simply too important as living beings that create balance and ensure biodiversity within every ecosystem, just as nature intended. Nature controls their numbers very well without any help from wildlife managers and sport killers. Wildlife trapping is outlawed in 89 countries as out-dated and cruel, it's time to outlaw barbaric wildlife trapping in the US, as well. Wolves, as sentient, intelligent and family-oriented beings, feel intense pain and fear and suffer horribly just as humans would, when caught in a torturous steel trap or snared by a strangling cable. In the 21st century, no animal of the wild should be subject to such cruelty and torture.

Imagine your family dog, alone in the night, caught in a painful steel trap by a delicate paw or snared by its neck to slowly strangle or shot in its gut while a gleeful sport killer watches it suffer an agonizing death. And all this animal wants is to be free and get back to you, to its family pack. America's wolves are being persecuted, tortured and killed in this way, as you are reading this, in the "land of the free and home of the brave." Free to be what, a heartless and violent animal abuser?

Federal and state wildlife agencies that are now facilitating this shameful persecution and massacre of America's wolves are full partners in the deaths of thousands of innocent wolves. The rising death toll from these corrupt state government sanctioned wolf massacres is in addition to the annual slaughter of hundreds of wolves by the US Department of Agriculture's hideous Wildlife Services division. Wildlife Services is a federal tax payer-subsidized, paramilitary-like agency devoted to the mass killing of America's native predators and other wildlife that belong across the landscape, even though they are deemed unworthy of life by selfish cattlemen and farmers. This brutal federal agency established over a hundred years ago should never have been created and must be permanently shut down. Most Americans are unaware of this bizarre agency of wildlife killers, as powerful cattle and agribusiness interests have succeeded in foiling any Congressional oversight of Wildlife Services for decades.

When wolf defenders finally succeed in stopping this latest American wolf massacre, serious reform of these corrupt agencies must be implemented without delay. Wildlife Services must be defunded and dismantled. The mission of all state wildlife agencies must permanently shift away from serving cattlemen, agribusiness and the sport killer lobby. It's time that these corrupt state agencies evolve and change to reflect the kinder ethical values of the majority of American citizens who have themselves evolved and learned to treasure the country's natural heritage. Their primary mission must be the restoration, conservation and protection of America's wildlife and their habitat. That is an honorable mission to be proud of. We are supposed to be a democracy and an ethical country, after all.

A humane and wildlife-loving majority of Americans and wolf friends from around the world, demand an immediate end to the unjust demonization, persecution and slaughter of America's wolves. Wolves must be placed back on the Endangered Species List and permanently protected from further hateful propaganda and malicious fairy tales directed against them. More and more Americans believe wolves should be our national symbol, alongside the bald eagle, which would outlaw the killing of any wolf in the United States.

Wolves are vital, beautiful and amazing beings. To love wolves is to love life. Please help defend and protect them.

After President Obama announced an executive action clarifying that doctors are permitted -- but not required -- to discuss gun safety with patients, conservatives in the media trumpeted a number of falsehoods, including the baseless claim that Obama is requiring doctors to report all gun owners to law enforcement.

JOHNSON: But when you say to a doctor, "We're going to clarify your role under one of the executive orders," clarify whether doctors can ask patients about their guns in homes. We know under the Obamacare Act in 2010 explicitly the statute says that there cannot be questions about guns in homes, lawful possession of firearms in wellness programs, in programs dictating how people are feeling, and questionnaires and the like. So the subtle, or not so subtle, indication in this executive order memorandum is, yeah doctors you should really be looking at the issue of lawful guns in people's homes because it is in fact a health hazard. REALITY: Firearm-Related Provisions In The Affordable Care Act Concern Prohibitions On Data Collection Of Gun Owners, Not The Doctor-Patient Relationship

Affordable Care Act Refers To Data Collection By The Secretary Of Health And Human Services, Not Doctors Conferring With Patients About Firearm Ownership. From the consolidated Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010:

'(2) LIMITATION ON DATA COLLECTION.--None of the authorities provided to the Secretary under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act or an amendment made by that Act shall be construed to authorize or may be used for the collection of any information relating to--

''(A) the lawful ownership or possession of a firearm or ammunition;

''(B) the lawful use of a firearm or ammunition; or

''(C) the lawful storage of a firearm or ammunition [Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, accessed 1/17/13]

NBC News: "There Are Some Who Believe The Health-Care Law Outlaws Doctors From Asking Patients About Guns In Their Homes. But That's Not True." From a January 16 article by NBC deputy political editor Domenico Montanaro:

The vagueness of some of the directives may cause controversy, but only one specific one jumps out that may get some talking -- No. 16: "Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes."

There are some who believe the health-care law outlaws doctors from asking patients about guns in their homes. But that's not true.

What it does prohibit, however, is "employers and the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services from asking about gun ownership in many instances, and it prohibits HHS from collecting such data," according to the Kaiser Health Foundation. [NBC News, 1/16/13]
